Peter Obi has addressed circulating images on social media falsely suggesting that he had meetings he never attended. One such image allegedly shows him with US President Donald Trump, claiming Trump praised him, while another purports to show him with MC Oluomo in his office.
Obi categorically stated that both images are fake and digitally altered, and the accompanying stories are entirely false. He has not met Mr. Trump recently, nor had any engagement with MC Oluomo.
He emphasized that these fabrications highlight the dangers of fake news and disinformation, which mislead and distract the public. Nigerians and the international community must remain vigilant, verify information before sharing, and resist propaganda that undermines truth and integrity.
Obi noted that any genuine meetings of this nature would have been publicly shared on his official X handle. He stressed that his political focus is on addressing Nigeria’s core challenges, including insecurity, rule of law, education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.
He concluded with a reaffirmation of his vision: a new Nigeria is possible.
