Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has received a high-profile delegation from Harvard University and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) at Government House, Dutse. The team, comprising Dr. Ahmad Tambuwal, Acting Director of Digital Literacy and Capacity Building at NITDA, and Professor Hauwa Ibrahim of Harvard University, is in Jigawa to support the rollout of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) training for primary and secondary school students.

During the meeting, Dr. Tambuwal explained that while NITDA is facilitating the initiative, the training curriculum and structure were designed by partner institutions. Professor Ibrahim highlighted the program’s goal of empowering children through simple, creative, and engaging digital learning, noting that technology is being used as a tool to inspire students to believe in their potential.

Governor Namadi assured the delegation of Jigawa State’s full commitment to sustaining and expanding the program. He stated that the Commissioners for Basic and Higher Education will directly oversee its implementation, ensuring the program’s success and impact.
