The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on Friday, October 24, 2025, hosted a delegation of private investors at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja to explore collaborative opportunities aimed at accelerating Nigeria’s digital economy and infrastructure development.
The high-level meeting centered on deepening public-private partnerships to strengthen the nation’s digital ecosystem, enhance innovation, and attract sustainable investments that align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reform agenda.
Welcoming the investors, Senator Bagudu described their visit as both strategic and timely, noting that it came at a period when Nigeria is pursuing technology-driven economic growth and long-term prosperity. “You are coming to Nigeria at a golden moment,” the Minister remarked. “We have a President with a profound mindset—one that values innovation, inclusive growth, and national advancement.”
He pointed to the Dangote Refinery as an example of how visionary investments and a supportive business environment can deliver transformative results. Bagudu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to working closely with the private sector to drive digital inclusion and productivity across key sectors such as education, healthcare, and innovation.
Speaking on behalf of the investor group, the lead foreign representative commended the Nigerian government’s economic direction and expressed confidence in the country’s digital potential. “Nigeria’s young and dynamic population is its greatest asset,” he stated. “Our goal is to help build a digital ecosystem that empowers citizens through education, job creation, and innovation. We see Nigeria as a natural hub for digital growth in Africa.”
The delegation revealed plans to establish a network of digital hubs across the country to improve connectivity, data infrastructure, and human capital development—initiatives expected to attract global technology partners and expand the nation’s digital footprint.
Both sides agreed to develop a joint framework to sustain dialogue and collaboration, ensuring that policy alignment and resource mobilization effectively support Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
Senator Bagudu reaffirmed that the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning would continue to back projects that promote economic diversification, foreign investment, and regional competitiveness, consistent with the government’s long-term development vision.
