Zamfara State has suffered yet another violent blow as armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Fegin Baza village in Tsafe Local Government Area on Saturday, killing three residents and abducting at least 64 others, including women and children.

Local sources told Daily Trust that the attackers stormed the community in large numbers, firing sporadically. Four people sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to the Tsafe General Hospital for urgent treatment.

One of the victims killed in the attack was identified as Umaru Moriki, a prominent APC chieftain and Sarkin Fadan Moriki. He was reportedly shot dead along the Gusau–Tsafe Road while travelling to Kaduna.

The latest incident adds to the growing wave of insecurity plaguing rural communities in Zamfara, where mass abductions, killings, and displacement have become tragically routine. Residents fear that without urgent government intervention, more villages may be overrun.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the attack as of the time of this report.

This incident underscores the persistent threat posed by armed groups in the region and the urgent need for strengthened security operations to protect vulnerable communities.
