The Federal Ministry of Interior has announced that, effective 1st December 2025, all official correspondence with the ministry will be conducted exclusively through electronic channels, marking a major milestone in the ministry’s digital transformation agenda.

The move aligns with the Digitalisation Reform Pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP 2025) and follows a directive from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, requiring all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to adopt electronic communication and records management.

From the effective date, the Ministry will no longer accept physical letters, mails, or any manual submission. All official documents, requests, and communications must now be submitted electronically through the ministry’s approved platforms:

Email Portal: Interior Correspondence Platform — interas.interior.gov.ng

Website Submission: Ministry of Interior Official Website — interior.gov.ng (accessible via backend registration)

According to Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary, the transition is aimed at improving service delivery, transparency, and efficiency, supporting the Federal Government’s broader drive towards a fully digitalized public service.

The ministry has urged all MDAs, organizations, partners, and members of the public to comply fully with the directive to ensure seamless processing of communications and requests.
