Police in the Federal Capital Territory have successfully recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a suspect following a prompt intelligence-led operation.

On March 9, 2026, officers of the Mabushi Police Division responded to a report from a resident of Galadimawa, Abuja, that his dark grey Toyota Corolla S with registration number KAB 83 BF had been stolen from Kaduna State on April 5, 2024. Acting swiftly, the police launched an intelligence-led operation to trace and recover the vehicle.

The operation led to the successful recovery of the stolen vehicle on the same day, in the possession of Blessing Ohwobete, a male resident of Dutse Alhaji, Abuja. Both the suspect and the vehicle are currently in police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the theft and recovery. Authorities have stated that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

This recovery is part of ongoing efforts by the FCT Police Command to combat vehicle theft and related crimes in Abuja, where intelligence-driven operations have previously led to the arrest of car-snatching syndicate members and the recovery of multiple stolen vehicles. The command continues to stress the importance of community cooperation and timely reporting to law enforcement authorities.
