Musa Ikhilor, and an Executive Member of the Edo State Special Security Squad, Comrade Ameloemen Idemudia Noah, aimed to strategize on how to continue the fight against cultism and kidnapping in the state. The Governor emphasized that the meeting was successful, with attendees able to develop a plan to ensure the state is safe for all.
Since the inauguration of the Security Squad, calmness has returned to the state, with several arrests made in a series of raids carried out. The team, comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC), hunters, vigilante groups, and repentant cultists, has identified hotspots and made significant arrests of suspects and leaders of cult groups. The Squad's efforts have restored relative peace to troubled parts of the state, especially in Benin City.
The Governor emphasized that his administration is committed to ensuring the state is safe for all, which is essential for driving a strong economy. He stated, "We had a very useful meeting that concerns the fight against cultism and kidnapping. We want to see that Edo State is safe for all of us, and we are able to drive a strong economy.
