In a significant move to deepen peacebuilding and promote interfaith harmony, Governor Uba Sani today chaired the Inter-Religious Dialogue on Peace, Unity and Security organized by the Kaduna State Bureau of Interfaith. The landmark event, held at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Hall, Murtala Square, Kaduna, convened respected religious and traditional leaders from across the state and beyond.
The primary objective of the dialogue was to assess the progress made in peacebuilding over the last two years and to further strengthen strategic citizen engagement through inclusive dialogue with community leaders. The atmosphere was warm, constructive, and indicative of a shared commitment to a more peaceful and united Kaduna.
In his keynote address, Governor Uba Sani expressed profound appreciation to religious and traditional leaders for their enduring support, wise counsel, and steadfast partnership in advancing government policies and programmes. He provided a detailed overview of his administration’s achievements over the past two years, particularly in peacebuilding, security, agriculture, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and human capital development.
The Governor emphasized the growing success of the Kaduna Peace Model, an initiative aimed at rebuilding trust and restoring stability in conflict-affected communities. He noted that the model’s positive impact has attracted interest from other subnational entities looking to replicate its success. He appealed to the leaders to continue supporting these efforts through prayers, guidance, and active engagement.
Responding to the Governor’s remarks, religious and traditional leaders jointly commended the administration's inclusive and participatory governance style. They lauded the state government’s unwavering commitment to fostering peace, stability, and development, and reaffirmed their collective dedication to building a Kaduna that is peaceful, prosperous, and investor-friendly.
The dialogue featured robust discussions on key security and development challenges. Leaders engaged in honest, forward-thinking deliberations and reaffirmed their shared resolve to promote interfaith understanding, peaceful coexistence, and sustained implementation of government initiatives.
