The Federal Ministry of Education has categorically dismissed recent media reports containing false and sponsored allegations against the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Hajia Aisha Garba, calling the claims baseless, libellous, and politically motivated.
The allegations—reportedly made by a shadowy group calling itself the “Education Rights Activists Coalition (ERAC)”—accuse Hajia Garba of administrative misconduct and abuse of office. However, the Ministry has strongly condemned the reports as fabricated attempts to undermine ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s basic education sector.
> “These accusations are entirely without merit. They are clearly the handiwork of subversive elements threatened by the bold reforms currently underway under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,”
— Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Honourable Minister of Education
