The Honourable Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in Benue State, James Oche, has urged staff of the Commission to demonstrate unwavering commitment and competence in the discharge of their duties, emphasizing that these qualities are essential for effective public service delivery.

Mr. Oche made the call today in Makurdi during the promotion examination conducted for eligible staff members of the Benue State PCC Office. He noted that under the leadership of the Chief Commissioner, Abubakar Bashir, the Commission has prioritized a renewed focus on work ethics, merit-based advancement, and capacity building across all levels.

“Competence and shared commitment are not just desirable—they are essential for the kind of effective and efficient service delivery our Commission is striving for,” Oche remarked while addressing the candidates before the exam.

According to available information, 74 staff members of the Benue State office participated in the examination, with the Honourable Federal Commissioner serving as examiner. The examination, which is being held simultaneously across all states and the FCT, is a mandatory prerequisite for staff promotion and plays a critical role in career development within the Commission.

This exercise aligns with the PCC’s national objective of ensuring transparency, accountability, and a merit-driven approach to public service, especially in handling citizens’ complaints and institutional grievances.

The promotion exam is part of ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing the professionalism and effectiveness of the Commission’s workforce across Nigeria.
