The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has carried out one of its most far-reaching disciplinary actions in recent years, expelling several high-profile members over alleged anti-party activities.
At the ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, party officials announced the expulsion of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and former lawmaker Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, among others.
According to party sources, the decision received overwhelming approval from delegates at the convention.

PDP leaders say the move is part of a broader effort to restore internal discipline and reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
