Abuja, November 16, 2025 – Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has publicly refuted recent online allegations linking him to political commentator Joy Sadiq, describing the claims as “inaccurate, misleading and not reflective of any reality known to me.”
In an official statement released today, Bello addressed circulating videos and comments in which Sadiq allegedly made claims about his relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The governor stressed that he has no association with Joy Sadiq beyond her occasional presence among certain supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State.
Bello went further to denounce Sadiq’s attacks on prominent Nigerians, describing her actions as unfounded and conducted entirely on her own accord. He emphasized: “She does not speak for me, has never represented me, much less any government or entity under my leadership or control.”
The governor reaffirmed his strong relationship with President Tinubu, citing mutual respect, understanding, and a shared commitment to the APC’s political goals. He also reiterated his full support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, rejecting any attempt to mischaracterize his loyalty.
Bello warned the public and media against giving credence to Sadiq’s statements, labeling them as “uninformed and unconnected” and motivated by malice. He added that all official communications from his office are released solely through approved channels and national media platforms.
