The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has warned of a possible nationwide shutdown of electricity services following an alleged attack on staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

The incident reportedly occurred at the Egbu 132/33kV Transmission Substation in Imo State, where armed police officers allegedly confronted and attacked TCN employees.

In response to the incident, NUEE has raised the alarm and threatened industrial action, demanding safety and protection for its members. The union’s warning signals potential disruptions to power supply if the matter is not addressed promptly.
