The United Kingdom has warned that citizens of three African nations could face visa restrictions if their governments fail to cooperate in taking back irregular migrants. The announcement comes ahead of a major overhaul of the UK’s asylum system.

In a statement released on Monday, the UK Home Office said Angola, Namibia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo would no longer receive UK visas if they fail to cooperate in accepting the return of ‘their criminals and illegal immigrants.’

The move signals a tougher stance by the UK government to manage migration, with potential diplomatic and travel consequences for citizens of the affected countries. The Home Office emphasized that the policy aims to ensure that countries take responsibility for their nationals who reside in the UK illegally.

Observers note that the policy could complicate travel and international relations with the three African countries if they do not comply with the UK’s demands.
