The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has announced that 50 students who were kidnapped from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri have managed to escape and are now reunited with their families.

Updated information shows that a total of 315 people have been abducted in the attack, including 303 students and 12 staff members.

However, CAN also reports that 253 victims are still being held by the kidnappers. Additionally, it was found that 88 students, who were earlier believed to be safe, were recaptured while trying to escape.

Security agencies are still working hard to rescue those still in captivity and bring an end to the ongoing situation.
