Troops of Operation MESA, including personnel from the 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, and Nigerian Police, successfully rescued seven kidnapped residents from Yankamaye Cikin Gari village in Tsanyawa Local Government Area on the night of November 29, 2025.
The victims were abducted during a violent attack in which a 60-year-old woman was killed. Security forces engaged the bandits along their withdrawal route toward Rimaye, securing the release of the victims, while four others remain missing. The assailants fled toward Kankia LGA in Katsina State, and security operatives continue to track their movements.
The Commander of 3 Brigade commended the troops for their swift and courageous action. He urged members of the public to assist ongoing operations by providing timely and credible information to security agencies.
The rescue underscores the persistent security challenges in northern Nigeria, as bandit attacks continue to threaten lives and property despite ongoing military operations.
