LASUBEB Female Football Team Clinches Victory at 10th Head of Service Games

Lagos State — The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) female football team emerged victorious at the grand finale of the 10th Edition of the Head of Service (HOS) Games, defeating the Public Service Office team 1–0 at Onikan Stadium on Tuesday, 2nd December 2025.

The match showcased the LASUBEB side’s discipline, teamwork, and tactical skill, with a well-executed goal securing the win and energizing supporters across the stadium. The victory underscores the Board’s commitment not only to educational excellence but also to fostering sportsmanship, resilience, and holistic workforce development.

Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu, praised the team’s determination and highlighted the importance of sports as part of education. He said,

> "As a Board saddled with the responsibility of quality free basic Education in the State, we will remain committed to championing initiatives that inspire teachers and learners, elevate morale, and strengthen the spirit of collaboration and sportsmanship within the public service and Public Primary Schools. Our activities not only focus on cognitive and affective parts of learning but also include the psychomotor aspect of learning."

 

The HOS Games, which brought together Ministries, Departments, and Agencies across the State, provided a platform for talent display, wellness, and camaraderie among participants. LASUBEB’s triumph reflects the Board’s broader mission to instill values of innovation, performance, and teamwork, both on and off the field, in Lagos State’s education system.
