Benin City, Edo State — The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 43‑year‑old man, Amadin Williams, in connection with the brutal killing of his childhood friend, Eghosa Osas, during a Christmas housewarming party in Oben community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, in a case that has left residents reeling and authorities promising justice.
According to the police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, the tragic incident was reported by the victim’s elder brother and revolves around a celebration that turned deadly on 22 December 2025, when friends and family had gathered to mark a housewarming and Christmas reunion. The victim, identified as Eghosa Osas, had recently returned from abroad with his family for the festive season.
Eyewitness accounts and official police briefings indicate that Eghosa excused himself from the party to use a restroom area, at which point the suspect, believed to be his childhood friend, allegedly cornered him and inflicted a fatal machete wound to the neck, leading to his immediate death.
