Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 35-year-old woman, Modupeola Bamisade, in connection with an alleged online fraud that defrauded more than 100 unsuspecting victims of over N500 million.

According to the police, Bamisade allegedly operated a scheme involving the sale of gadgets online, luring buyers with promises of delivery but failing to fulfill orders while retaining payments. The operation reportedly spanned multiple states, with victims ranging from individual consumers to small business owners.

Police authorities have stated that preliminary investigations indicate a sophisticated network designed to exploit unsuspecting internet users. The case has been classified as a high-priority cybercrime, and law enforcement agencies are working to trace the flow of funds and recover stolen assets where possible.

The Lagos State Police Command has urged the public to exercise caution when transacting online and to report suspicious activities promptly to relevant authorities. Bamisade is expected to be charged to court as investigations continue into her alleged criminal enterprise.
