Police authorities in Onitsha, Anambra State, have arrested a 21-year-old apprentice accused of fatally assaulting his employer following a late-night altercation that reportedly escalated into violence.
The incident, which occurred within a residential and business area of the commercial city, has sent shockwaves through the local community, where the traditional apprenticeship system remains a central pathway for vocational training and economic mobility. According to preliminary accounts from law enforcement sources, an argument broke out between the apprentice and his master during the night.
