Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), under Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded fresh successes against Boko Haram and its collaborators in Adamawa State and Borno State, the military said on Wednesday.

In Adamawa State, troops of Sector 4 under 28 Task Force Brigade arrested a 28-year-old suspect, Ismail Muhammed, identified as a terrorist logistics supplier, at the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area. Items recovered from him included one AK-47 magazine, 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements and assorted foodstuffs. He is currently in custody for further investigation.

In a related operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops ambushed terrorists along the Visik River axis, killing a commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from the neutralised insurgent.

Troops acting on follow-up intelligence also arrested a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Usman Gubula, described as a terrorist collaborator and drone supplier, at Madagali Motor Park. Military sources said he supplied drones later modified and used by terrorists in attacks on troops. Recovered items included two aerial drones, drone accessories and 20 solar power banks.

Meanwhile, in Sector 2, troops of Operation HADIN KAI, working with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force, repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu, Borno State, and neutralised a suspected terrorist informant attempting to breach defensive positions. Logistics items were also recovered.

The Nigerian military said the operations are part of sustained efforts to dismantle insurgent supply networks, restore security and protect communities across the North-East.

The Military High Command commended the troops for their dedication and urged them to sustain the current operational tempo.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, on February 19, 2026.
