The Commissioner highlighted the continued commitment of the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to the welfare of officers and their families. In keeping with this commitment, twenty cheques were presented to beneficiaries under the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and the IGP Family Welfare Scheme, totalling Forty Million, Eight Hundred and Three Thousand, Eight Hundred and Fifty-Seven Naira, Six Kobo (₦40,803,857.06). Expressing gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, CP Agbonika praised his visionary leadership, compassion, and sustained efforts to ensure the welfare of police personnel and their families. He emphasized that the presentation of the cheques served as a tangible acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by officers in the service of peace and security.

To the families of the fallen officers, the Commissioner urged strength and resilience, encouraging them to take pride in the legacy of their loved ones. He reminded attendees that the deceased served with honour and that their contributions had significantly enhanced public safety and security across Edo State.

The ceremony also provided a platform to reaffirm the commitment of the Edo State Police Command to uphold duty, humanity, and service. CP Agbonika called on officers and the community alike to continue building a Police Force that is not only effective in its responsibilities but also compassionate in its engagement with the public.

Concluding his address, the Commissioner offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the departed officers and for the continued comfort and strength of their families. The event underscored the importance of recognising the sacrifices of law enforcement personnel and highlighted the ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to support families of those who have given their lives in the line of duty.
