Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda, has unveiled the state’s Special Schools Programme, a flagship initiative aimed at grooming young talents and fostering innovation for the future of Katsina and Nigeria.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Governor Radda said the project is a fulfillment of promises made under his administration’s “Building Your Future” policy agenda. He explained that three schools—located in Radda, Jikamshi, and Dumurkul—have been strategically built across the state’s zones and are now ready to commence academic activities.

According to him, over 2,000 students drawn from all 361 wards and 34 local governments have qualified to participate in the upcoming merit-based entrance examinations. Out of these, 996 of the best-performing candidates will be admitted as the pioneer students of the programme.

Governor Radda emphasized that every admitted student will enjoy full government sponsorship, covering tuition, uniforms, digital learning tools, accommodation, constant electricity supply, internet connectivity, and a modern learning environment.

“These schools are strictly for the brightest minds, regardless of background or social status. The admission process will remain transparent, fair, and merit-driven at every stage,” he said.

He thanked the people of Katsina for their support and patience, assuring them that his administration remains committed to delivering reforms that prioritize education and youth development.
