Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, Wife of the Governor of Enugu State, described the launch of RenewHER as a remarkable and inspiring experience. The evening, dedicated to advancing women’s health as a national priority, brought together leaders, policymakers, and development partners in a unified call to action.
RenewHER, a Presidential Women’s Health Transformation Initiative, aims to reduce maternal mortality, expand access to quality healthcare, and empower women through coordinated action, technology, and strategic partnerships. Central to the initiative is the creation of an AI-powered National Women’s Health Digital Hub, designed to provide practical, sustainable solutions that safeguard women’s well-being while linking wellness with empowerment, equity, and national prosperity.
The launch, held at the State House Banquet Hall, was hosted by Hon. (Dr.) Adanna Steinacker, SSA to the President on Women’s Health, in collaboration with the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum and other stakeholders. His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was ably represented by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, who formally unveiled the initiative.
During the event, it was emphasized that women’s health serves as the heartbeat of families and remains the most accurate measure of a nation’s strength. The evening combined seriousness with celebration, marking the start of a transformative chapter for equity and inclusion across Nigeria, and reinforcing the country’s commitment to placing women’s health at the center of national development.
