The wife of the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Ajibola Lawal, on Saturday represented the First Lady, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde, at the Female Leadership Legend Retreat tagged “SHE: Becoming a Global Change.” The retreat was organized by Ramata Agberemi-Dabo, Senior Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Local Government Matters.
In her keynote speech, Chief Mrs. Lawal stressed that leadership goes beyond titles or positions, describing it as the act of making positive impacts. She urged participants to become agents of change in their various spaces and to resist fear or limitations that could hinder them.
She further encouraged women to complement, rather than compete with each other, noting that collaboration was essential to building a stronger foundation for the next generation. “When women stand together and uplift each other, the next generation will stand taller and stronger,” she said.
The retreat, which brought together women from diverse sectors, focused on empowering and inspiring women in leadership, entrepreneurship, and career development. It also underscored the importance of mentorship, unity, and resilience in shaping women into global change-makers.
