Former Governor of Kano State and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s agro-industrial sector by attracting major investors to the northern region.

Speaking during a visit to Wilmar Plantations Limited in Calabar, Cross River State, Kwankwaso praised the company’s role in driving local production and job creation through its household brands, including Kings Oil and Mamador Oil. He also toured Real Plantation Limited, another agro-industrial enterprise operating in the state.

Kwankwaso said the purpose of his visits was to explore opportunities for replicating such large-scale agro-industrial investments in Northern Nigeria, where agricultural potential remains largely untapped. According to him, expanding operations of companies like Wilmar into the North would not only accelerate regional development but also provide employment opportunities and ensure that the agricultural strength of all regions is fully harnessed for national growth.

He stressed the importance of building partnerships between government, private investors, and communities to create a thriving agro-industrial base across the country, assuring that initiatives like these would strengthen Nigeria’s manufacturing sector and enhance food security.
