Mrs. Ladi Abel, 45, the wife of a senior officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Seme Command, has been kidnapped along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, according to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The incident was confirmed by Mr. Isaac Elijah, spokesperson for the Seme Command, who said Mrs. Abel left her home in the Sawmill area of Badagry around 7:30 a.m. on Monday to visit the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos for shopping when she was abducted.
“One of the kidnappers used the woman’s phone to reach out to her husband. They initially requested N7 million, but called again around 6 a.m. today to reduce the ransom to N3 million if they wanted her alive,” Elijah told NAN.
The kidnappers contacted her husband, Chief Superintendent of Immigration (CSI) Abel Mada, demanding a ransom for her release. Authorities have been informed, and the case has been reported to the Badagry Police Station and the Area K Police Command.
Mr. Elijah appealed to members of the public who may have useful information to contact the family at 08080883848.
The Nigeria Immigration Service and security agencies are currently investigating the abduction and working to ensure Mrs. Abel’s safe release.
