Argentine authorities have arrested Ikechukwu N., a Nigerian national, in a landmark operation marking the country’s first capture of a fugitive listed on a #RedNotice and also the subject of an INTERPOL Silver Notice.
The suspect is alleged to have orchestrated multiple romance scams targeting thousands of women and is accused of leading an international cybercrime syndicate.
The arrest was conducted under Operation Jackal, an INTERPOL-coordinated initiative aimed at dismantling West African organized criminal networks. The operation involved the Argentine Federal Police (@PFAOficial) and the PSA Security (@seguridadpsa), with additional support from IFCACC, FIS, and INTERPOL Brazil.
The Silver Notice, launched as a pilot project in January 2025, is designed to assist countries in tracing and recovering criminal assets connected to international fugitives. Authorities say the operation demonstrates strengthened international collaboration in tackling cybercrime and transnational criminal activities.
