Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing school infrastructure, strengthening technical education, and promoting student welfare across the state.
Speaking during a meeting with student leaders in Akure, the Governor commended the maturity and peaceful conduct of students, which he said has sustained stability across tertiary institutions in the state.
Aiyedatiwa urged continued patience amid the temporary hardship caused by national economic reforms, assuring that the policies are already producing positive long-term outcomes.
Highlighting ongoing developmental projects, he mentioned the reconstruction of the Akungba–Ikare road, initiated to curb frequent accidents and boost economic activity in the area.
To address accommodation challenges, the Governor called on private investors to partner with government in building hostels near campuses, saying such investments would improve both student security and welfare.
He announced the approval of five new buses for student bodies across tertiary institutions and pledged to resolve the electricity supply challenges at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his government’s unwavering support for scholarships, grants, and youth empowerment initiatives, describing technical and vocational education as vital to industrial growth and employment creation.
