KANO, Nigeria — The Kano State Police Command has reinforced its community engagement efforts through courtesy visits from Mr. Mike Zang, representative of the Chinese community in Kano, and members of the Kano State Security Agencies Imams Forum.
During his visit, Mr. Zang commended the efforts of Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, in maintaining peace and security, particularly in areas where Chinese nationals live and work. He also pledged the continued support of the Chinese community in strengthening the relationship with the police.
“We are grateful for the protection and cooperation extended to our community, and we will continue to collaborate with the Kano State Police to maintain peace,” Mr. Zang said.
In a separate meeting, members of the Kano State Security Agencies Imams Forum discussed strategies for promoting peace through preaching and planned upcoming Qur’anic competitions. The Imams reiterated their commitment to supporting the police in maintaining law and order across the state.
“Our role is to guide the community and support initiatives that strengthen law and order,” one of the Imams stated.
Responding, CP Bakori expressed appreciation to both the Chinese representative and the Imams for their cooperation, stressing that the Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Kano State. He highlighted enhanced collaboration with community stakeholders as a key pillar of effective policing.
The visits underscore the Kano State Police Command’s proactive approach to community policing and its focus on fostering peaceful coexistence among diverse groups within the state.
