ABUJA, Nigeria — Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has warned the public against individuals and groups falsely using his name to promote or endorse various online businesses and ventures.
In a statement posted via X (formerly Twitter), Obi noted that, despite previous clarifications, some persons continue to exploit his identity for personal and commercial gain, misleading unsuspecting members of the public.

“I wish to state categorically that I have no connection whatsoever with any of these endorsements or promotional activities. At no time have I authorised any individual, business, or online platform to use my name, image, or identity for commercial purposes or profit-making ventures,” Obi said.
He described such activities as fraudulent and deceptive, emphasizing that they aim solely to exploit public trust.
The public was strongly advised to disregard all false claims and exercise caution when encountering online content that purports to involve him in business dealings.
“Genuine information concerning me or my engagements will continue to be communicated through officially verified channels,” Obi added.
His team encouraged citizens to report suspicious online activities to prevent further exploitation and protect unsuspecting members of the public.
