In Abuja, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), in partnership with the British High Commission, hosted the UK–Nigeria Trade Mission Fair. The event focused on increasing visibility and opening up new opportunities for women-led businesses in Nigeria.

The fair aimed to strengthen trade ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, bringing together policymakers, development partners, exporters, and investors. It showcased the creativity and competitiveness of Nigerian women-owned brands, with exhibitors displaying products from sectors like fashion, beauty, agriculture, food processing, and creative industries.

This event gave women entrepreneurs direct exposure to potential partners and buyers in the UK market, helping them expand beyond local markets. The goal is to improve market access for Nigerian products, boost international branding, and create new pathways for women-led businesses to grow globally.

The event also supports Nigeria’s broader efforts to diversify its economy by increasing non-oil exports. The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment reaffirmed its commitment to creating policies and partnerships that help women-led businesses thrive. The ministry emphasized that promoting inclusive trade is essential to Nigeria’s economic transformation.

This initiative marks an important step toward empowering women entrepreneurs and strengthening Nigeria’s position in international trade.
