Terror struck Eruku town in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State on Tuesday evening, causing widespread fear and chaos. Armed terrorists launched a brutal attack on a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), killing three worshippers and abducting several others, including the church pastor.

Sources told SaharaReporters that the attackers invaded the church during a meeting and opened fire immediately, forcing worshippers to scatter in panic. Three people were shot dead instantly, while the gunmen rounded up an unknown number of others at gunpoint. A witness described the scene, saying, “The gunmen came in suddenly and started shooting. Three people were killed instantly. They gathered others and marched them into the bush.”

The assailants reportedly escaped through bush paths linking Eruku to neighboring communities, leaving residents terrified and disorganized. Earlier reports indicated that heavily armed terrorists entered the town through one of its major routes, firing sporadically and causing residents and travelers to flee into the surrounding bushes for safety. Vehicles were abandoned on the road as continuous gunfire echoed across the community.

A traveler who narrowly escaped recorded a frantic video while hiding, pleading for help. “This is 18-11-2025… they started shooting. Everybody has scattered into the bush. Please, come to our rescue. People have abandoned their vehicles. The community is in chaos,” he said.

The terrorists moved freely through the area without resistance, unleashing havoc across several communities. As of now, neither the Kwara State Police nor the state government has issued an official statement about the attack, leaving residents in suspense and fear.

This incident marks yet another wave of violence and insecurity in the region, raising urgent questions about the security situation and the safety of innocent civilians.
