Falz Calls for President Tinubu’s Resignation Over Insecurity Failures

Popular Nigerian artist and activist, Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has publicly criticized the government’s handling of the nation’s insecurity crisis, calling for the resignation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a strongly worded statement shared on social media, Falz accused the government of neglecting its primary responsibility of protecting lives and property, stating, You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. RESIGN NOW
Falz’s comments reflect the growing frustration among Nigerians over the worsening insecurity, including kidnappings, terrorist attacks, and violent crimes, which continue to plague various parts of the country. His call for resignation aligns with increasing demands for accountability and leadership change, as citizens feel abandoned in the face of escalating violence. The statement has sparked widespread debate, with many Nigerians expressing similar sentiments, while others argue that addressing insecurity requires systemic reforms rather than leadership changes.
This criticism comes amid other public outcries, including from figures such as Isaac Fayose and Atiku Abubakar, who have also called for decisive action or leadership changes due to the rising insecurity. The abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the killing of military personnel, including Brigadier General Musa Uba, have further intensified public anger, leading to nationwide discussions about the government’s effectiveness in tackling these challenges
