There is growing criticism over the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) as it gets ready to hold its anniversary celebration this week. This criticism comes at a time when Northern Nigeria is facing serious insecurity, including attacks on villages, schools, and the killing of important leaders.

Many people are questioning why the ACF, a major organization representing the North, is focusing on its expensive and high-profile anniversary event instead of helping to stop the violence. Critics say that while the region is bleeding from terrorist attacks, kidnappings, and violence, the organization seems more interested in celebrating than addressing the urgent security problems.

Social commentator IG Wala voiced his concern, asking, “Where is our conscience?” He pointed out the stark contrast between the region’s suffering and the focus on the celebration.

Wala and others believe that the ACF should be more focused on finding solutions to the ongoing insecurity rather than holding lavish events. The criticism reflects the rising public worry over the safety of Northern communities and the urgent need for action to stop the violence.
