Kwara State has been struck by a fresh wave of insecurity, as terrorists kidnapped four rice farmers in Bokungi Village, Edu Local Government Area, on Wednesday evening. The victims were reportedly seized while working on their farms during the height of the harvest season.

The latest abduction comes less than 24 hours after armed men attacked a church in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, underscoring a growing pattern of violent attacks across the state. Local sources told SaharaReporters that these coordinated assaults are heightening fear among residents and threatening livelihoods in rural communities.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of the kidnappers or the current status of the abducted farmers. The incidents raise pressing concerns about the effectiveness of security measures in rural areas and the urgent need for strengthened protection of vulnerable communities.

As fear grips the region, locals are calling for swift intervention to secure the release of the victims and prevent further attacks on innocent civilians.
