The government of Adamawa State has issued a statement dismissing a circulating social media claim that the leader of the Christian community in the area has been harmed or killed. The authorities confirm that this report is false and designed to cause unnecessary panic.

According to officials, the person in question is safe, healthy, and actively involved in his usual activities. They urge members of the public not to pay attention to the false information and to ignore the viral message.

The government also clarified that a video being shared to support the false claim is actually an old clip from the year 2020. The footage has been recycled with malicious intent to spread fear and confusion among residents.

In light of this, security agencies have been directed to investigate the source of the fake report. Sharing false information that incites fear is considered a serious crime under Nigerian law.

The authorities advise everyone to remain calm and continue with their daily routines. They also encourage citizens to verify any information from official sources before sharing or reacting to online content that could cause anxiety or disrupt peace.

The leadership of the state, under the leadership of Governor Fintiri, reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding lives and property, and to maintaining the peaceful coexistence among different faith communities.

The security system remains alert and operational across the state. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious or misleading online content to the relevant authorities promptly.

The government emphasizes the importance of collective vigilance in combating the spread of misinformation and upholding the truth. Once again, the public is reminded that the viral video does not relate to the current situation and is an unrelated clip from years past.

This official statement was issued by the Ministry of Information and Strategy, signed by the Honourable Commissioner.
