The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has taken swift action after a corps member from Kaduna State made a controversial comment about teenage female students on social media. The corps member, Oyaje Daniel, was serving at Judeen International School in Mando, Kaduna, when the incident happened.

In response, the NYSC immediately summoned Daniel before its disciplinary committee. He appeared alongside his CDS President, and other representatives, including his college alumni president and an activist, accompanied him to the NYSC headquarters in Kaduna for further discussions.

Observers noted that Daniel appeared “sober and remorseful,” clearly affected by the situation. The NYSC has now withdrawn him from his original placement and redeployed him to the NYSC headquarters for the rest of his service year. While accommodation is available at the headquarters, Daniel will not stay there and is required to report daily to the office under close supervision.

An investigative team has been sent to visit his former place of assignment to check if he engaged in any misconduct beyond the online comment. If any further wrongdoing is found, it will be handed over to the relevant authorities.

The NYSC is also monitoring other corps members who made similar comments related to the viral post. Those found to have acted inappropriately will also face disciplinary measures.

The organization emphasized that Daniel’s case is a warning about the dangers of irresponsible social media use. The NYSC reiterated its strict policy against behavior that undermines its values or endangers community safety. The message is clear: such actions have serious consequences, and the NYSC is committed to maintaining discipline and integrity among its members.
