Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reassured everyone that they are safe and secure, even though neighboring states are experiencing increased bandit attacks. He praised security agencies and leaders for their proactive efforts to protect the state.
The governor expressed gratitude to the people for their strong support and assured them that government services in education, health, roads, ICT, agriculture, water, sports, and security will continue without interruption.
He explained that the government has held several security meetings over the past three weeks to develop plans to prevent bandits from entering Osun. A detailed security plan is already in place and being implemented.
Governor Adeleke praised the police, DSS, Army, NSCDC, and other security agencies for their work, especially noting the support from top officials like the Inspector General of Police, DSS Director General, Chief of Defence Staff, and NSCDC Commandant General. He urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the police.
He assured the public that security deployment is ongoing in key areas, and intelligence agencies are fully aware of potential threats. He also commended the DSS for recent successful arrests of terrorists and the dismantling of their cells in Osun.
The governor advised everyone not to panic and to provide credible information about any strange movements. He directed Amotekun security to work closely with police and other agencies to protect communities from bandits and terrorists.
On the ongoing issue of local government appointments, he said stakeholders are waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision. He urged everyone to be law-abiding and not to take the law into their own hands. He also expressed confidence that the judiciary will resolve its internal issues soon and assured he will not interfere in judicial matters.
Despite security challenges, the governor said that good governance continues. He highlighted progress in digital economy, economic empowerment, workers’ welfare, and infrastructure development across towns.
He thanked the people for their prayers and support, which motivate his government to serve better. The governor reaffirmed his commitment to delivering good governance and development for Osun.
