Bloodshed in Zamfara: Multiple Villages Attacked as Bandit Violence Escalates in Tsafe LGA

Tsafe, Zamfara State – Yesterday evening, communities across Tsafe Local Government Area were plunged into chaos as armed bandits launched coordinated attacks on several villages, leaving dozens dead, injured, and abducted.

According to local reports, the violence unfolded in Gidan Dawa, Gangara, Tsagero, and Marke, with residents describing scenes of terror and destruction. In Gidan Dawa, 10 people were shot, four of whom were confirmed dead. Gangara saw three fatalities, and both a school and a home were set ablaze. In Tsagero, six residents were killed while three others sustained injuries. Meanwhile, in Marke, five people lost their lives, and three residents were reportedly abducted.

The attacks have left communities overwhelmed and vulnerable, highlighting the persistent cycle of insecurity that continues to plague Zamfara State. Local residents are calling for urgent intervention, as fear and desperation grip the affected areas.

Security sources indicate that bandit groups have been increasingly targeting rural communities in Tsafe LGA, with devastating effects on livelihoods, education, and the sense of safety in the region.

As authorities assess the scale of the attacks, questions remain about when and how these recurring violent incidents will finally be contained.
