Suspected Boko Haram fighters have allegedly executed several women in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State after accusing them of engaging in “idolatry.” Local sources say the insurgents claimed to have found charms on the victims before carrying out the killings.

The incident has heightened fear among residents in nearby communities, many of whom are appealing for stronger military presence and intensified counter-terrorism operations in the area.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the reported attack.
