The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has confirmed that legal proceedings will be fast-tracked against Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, in connection with a serious vehicular incident that occurred on 1 November 2025 in Sagamu, Ogun State.

On that date, Mr. Abiodun collided with two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger seriously injured. Eyewitnesses reported that he attempted to flee the scene, prompting passersby to intervene. The Ogun State Police Command promptly initiated investigations, while prioritising the medical care, privacy, and recovery of the victims.

This incident is not isolated. On 23 November 2025, Mr. Abiodun was involved in another road accident in Lekki, Lagos State. The crash posed a serious risk to pedestrians, who narrowly avoided injury through quick reflexes. In total, this marks the third road traffic collision involving Mr. Abiodun in just two months.

Authorities have stressed that while civil compensation can sometimes resolve road traffic disputes, repeated and reckless driving constitutes a threat to public safety and requires criminal accountability. At least two of Mr. Abiodun’s crashes were captured on video, providing clear evidence of his negligent behaviour. His decision to return to driving without demonstrating greater caution underscores the need for urgent intervention to protect the public.

In response, the Attorney-General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has instructed relevant officers to expedite the prosecution of the pending Sagamu crash case, ensuring prompt arraignment. The Ministry of Justice is working in close collaboration with the Police to bring the matter to swift conclusion.

The Ogun State Government remains committed to safeguarding public safety and sending a clear message that reckless driving will not be tolerated.
