Last night, Tofah community in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State was struck by a brutal attack by armed bandits. The assault occurred shortly after a network shutdown, leaving residents cut off from communication and vulnerable. The bandits moved through the village, firing their weapons repeatedly and causing widespread panic. Several residents were killed in the attack, while others sustained injuries, and some were abducted by the attackers. In the early hours of this morning, fear and uncertainty prompted many residents to flee the community in search of safety elsewhere. The incident has raised serious concerns about the ongoing insecurity in Sokoto State and questions about how long residents will continue to live in fear. There is also growing frustration over when authorities will take decisive action to end this violence and restore peace to Tofah and neighboring communities.
