Abuja, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Hon. Francis Orogu as the Acting National Vice Chairman (North Central) following the expulsion of his predecessor, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, at the party’s 2025 National Elective Convention.

The decision was made during the 610th meeting of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) in line with Article 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended). Until now, Orogu served as Secretary of the North Central Zonal Executive Committee. He will hold the acting position until a substantive chairman is elected for the zone.

The NWC directed all PDP members, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, the media, and the general public to take note of the appointment. Party leaders also urged members in the North Central region to remain united and support Orogu in driving the progress and success of the party.

“All Party members, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, the media and the general public should take note accordingly.”

“The NWC urges all PDP members, especially in the North Central, to remain united and continue to work with Hon. Orogu and other leaders for the progress and success of our great party.”

The PDP leadership emphasized that the move is aimed at ensuring stability, continuity, and effective leadership within the party’s North Central zone.
