Umuahia, Abia State – 26 November 2025 – The Abia State Police Command has successfully concluded Phase II of the Mutual Accountability and Community Scorecard Initiative, a key component of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Reform Agenda aimed at enhancing Police–Community collaboration.
The exercise, which initially took place from 28th to 30th October 2025, focused on divisions under the Umuahia Area Command (Batch A) and the Akwete Area Command . Today, officers from both Area Commands met with community representatives from the respective jurisdictions to evaluate challenges previously identified in the collaboration between police and the public.
Key issues discussed during the meeting included fostering patience and trust, improving security education, ensuring public access to official social media platforms, and enhancing emergency contact systems. Participants also explored other factors crucial to strengthening cooperation between the Police and community members.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police (Administration), ACP George Enaholo, representing the Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, lauded the efforts of the project facilitator, Dr. Emeka Ononamadu, Executive Director of the Citizens Centre for Integrated Development and Social Rights (CCIDESOR). He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the IGP’s vision of a professional, service-driven, law-abiding, and people-friendly police force.
ACP Enaholo emphasized that the Abia State Police will continue to strengthen partnerships with members of the public, recognizing them as vital stakeholders in crime prevention and overall security management.
The conference concluded on a positive note, fostering improved understanding, unity, and renewed commitment between the Police and the community to ensure a safer Abia State for all.
