The Abia State Police Command is celebrating the 70th anniversary of Nigeria Police Women, following a directive from the Inspector General of Police for a nationwide celebration. The festivities began on November 25, 2025, with a conference led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, alongside senior officers and women police officers from the state.

To mark this important milestone, the police command has organized a series of activities planned for the days ahead. On Friday, November 28, there will be a stakeholders’ engagement at the Police Officers Mess at 12:00 pm. The following day, a walkathon against Gender-Based Violence will hold at 10:00 am, with participants converging at Okpara Square in Umuahia and the Aba Area Command. On Sunday, November 30, a charity visit will take place at 2:00 pm, and on Monday, December 1, a school outreach program is scheduled to start at 9:00 am. Additional activities will also be held at the Police Headquarters and Aba Area Command.

The Abia Police Command is calling on residents to join in celebrating the bravery, dedication, and service of women in law enforcement as they mark this historic 70-year milestone. The celebration aims to honor the contributions of women police officers, inspire future generations, and promote gender equality within the police force.

The statement was issued by DSP Maureen C. Chinaka, Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Abia State, and dated November 27, 2025.
