The Nigeria Immigration Service has confirmed that a violent attack occurred at the Bakrin Ruwua Checkpoint, Tuga Border Patrol Formation in Kebbi State. The incident happened on Thursday, 27 November 2025, around 10:00 pm.
According to the service, the attack resulted in the tragic death of three NSIS personnel and caused significant damage to operational assets and facilities at the border point. The Nigeria Immigration Service has expressed deep condolences to the families and colleagues of the fallen officers, praising their bravery and dedication to protecting Nigeria’s borders.
In response to the attack, the Comptroller-General of Immigration, KN Nandap, ordered an immediate tactical response. Reinforcements have been deployed to the area, and joint operations with other security agencies have been intensified. There is also an increase in intelligence activities across the Tuga border area to prevent further threats and restore full security.
The Nigeria Immigration Service reaffirmed its commitment to securing Nigeria’s borders and warned that acts of criminality will not deter their efforts. They urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies to help keep Nigeria safe.
