Wedding Day Horror: Bandits Abduct 30 Women and Girls in Sokoto’s Chacho Community

Sokoto, Nigeria – Panic and fear engulfed Chacho community in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State yesterday night as armed bandits stormed the village, injuring one person and abducting at least 30 women and girls, including a bride and her bridesmaids.

The attack turned what was meant to be a joyful wedding celebration into a scene of terror, leaving families traumatized and questioning their safety in the face of increasing insecurity across the region.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants struck suddenly, forcing residents to flee. The identity of the kidnapped victims remains undisclosed, and details of their current whereabouts are still sketchy. Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
