Ejiba, Kogi State – Panic struck Ejiba town in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State on Sunday morning as armed bandits stormed a new Cherubim and Seraphim Church during service, abducting the pastor, his wife, and several worshippers.

Eyewitnesses described the assault as sudden and violent, forcing congregants to flee for their lives. The pastor, popularly known as Orlando, and other church members remain in the custody of the attackers.

The attack underscores the persistent threat of banditry in Kogi State, with religious institutions increasingly targeted despite ongoing security efforts. Local authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident or the status of rescue operations.

Residents of Ejiba expressed fear and frustration, questioning the effectiveness of existing security measures and urging swift action to ensure the safe return of the abducted victims.
