Over 200 concerned parents of children abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, staged a protest on Sunday to express frustration over what they describe as government inaction.

The abduction, which occurred on November 21, saw 315 pupils taken by unknown assailants, leaving families in distress and the community in fear. During the protest, parents registered their names alongside those of their missing children as part of a formal documentation exercise, underscoring the urgency of the situation and their demand for immediate action.

The demonstration highlights growing anxiety among residents over the safety of children and the seeming delay in government response to ensure the swift recovery of the abducted pupils.

Authorities have yet to provide an update on the status of rescue efforts, leaving parents and the public calling for faster intervention and stronger security measures to prevent such attacks.
